What does TEFL mean?
TEFL simply stands for Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

Is English spoken is Malta?
Yes. Malta has 2 official languages – English and Maltese. Both languages are compulsory for all students in Maltese schools until the age of 16.

Are there any age limits to obtain an EFL Teaching Permit?
Yes. In order to teach EFL in Malta, prospective teachers must be at least 18 years old and also possess the necessary qualifications outlined in the website. A clean police conduct is also required.

What is TELT?
TELT is a Test for English Language teachers. It is accepted for the purpose of satisfying one the EFL Teaching Permit requirements. Two TELT sessions are held annually, in November and in March. 

What is TEFL Cert.?
The TEFL Cert. course is an entry level qualification in the methodology of teaching EFL. It is accepted for the purpose of satisfying one the EFL Teaching Permit requirements. TEFL Cert. Courses are run by accredited EFL Schools.
