ELT Teachers

Do what you love, love what you do!

More than 85,000 students visit Malta every year. They come from various countries and their ages range from children to adults, but their goal is always the same: to improve their communication skills in English while making memories that last a lifetime. YOU can be the key to their success!

As an EFL Teacher in one of Malta’s 34 licensed English Language Schools, your role will be to coach them on how to communicate better in English. That way, once they leave your classroom, they will be able to cope with any day-to-day or business-related situations. For many of them, this step will be a life-changing one, both in their personal, as well as in their professional lives.

Is this for me?

If you love meeting people from around the world, if you would love to make a significant difference in people’s lives, and if personal growth and flexible work opportunities matter to you, then you should definitely consider a career in EFL. That way, you will be able to strike a balance between doing what you love, and loving what you do.

Malta is the only EU country to have legislation in place to regulate the teaching of EFL. As per Legal Notice 221 of 2015, all ELT teachers must reach the minimum requirements outlined by the law in order to obtain an ELT Teaching Permit. The ELT Council is the body responsible for issuing teaching permits.
