Yes. Malta has 2 official languages – English and Maltese. Both languages are compulsory for all students in Maltese schools until the age of 16.
Yes. In order to teach EFL in Malta, prospective teachers must be at least 18 years old and also possess the necessary qualifications outlined in the Legal Notice 221 of 2015. A clean police conduct is also required.
TELT is a Test for English Language Teachers. It is accepted for the purpose of satisfying one of the ELT Permit requirements. Three TELT sessions are held annually, in November, in May and in March.
The TEFL Cert. course is an entry level qualification in the methodology of teaching EFL. It is accepted for the purpose of satisfying one the ELT Permit requirements. TEFL Cert. Courses are run by accredited ELT Schools.
