Expression of Interest: Monitoring Exercise 2022

The ELT Council notifies persons who are qualified and experienced in the ELT industry to submit their Expression of Interest in participating in a monitoring exercise of a number of licenced ELT schools, annexes and distance learning providers in Malta and Gozo in summer 2022. This monitoring exercise is to be carried out in line with the Academic School Visits Policy and L.N. 221 of 2015.

Successful candidates will be expected to:

  1. attend training sessions and meetings in relation to duties to be performed;
  2. conduct complete monitoring exercise of a number of licensed schools, annexes and distance learning providers between July and September 2022;
  3. observe and evaluate lessons from an academic perspective;
  4. submit all duly signed individual school/annexe/distance learning reports to the ELT Council;
  5. and prepare an overall report which should include specific recommendations for all schools, annexes and distance learning providers.

By the closing time and date of this Expression of Interest, applicants must possess:

  • a minimum of 5 years’ academic experience in the ELT sector;
  • an internationally-recognised Level 7 qualification in ELT (e.g., Master’s in TESOL/ELT/TEFL; Cambridge ESOL DELTA, or Trinity College Dip. TESOL);
  • previous experience as a classroom observer or teacher trainer or experience in quality assurance duties in educational environments;
  • excellent writing skills in the English language.

Selected candidates will not have been involved with any ELT School for the previous 6 months.

Remuneration:

A rate of Eur100 per non-associated independent ELT school/DLP provider monitoring exercise and Eur75 per FELTOM school visited, both rates include all related charges but exclude VAT. The said rates cover visits, report writing and submission of report/s. Interested persons are to submit an application by not later than noon (12.00 CET) of Monday, 7th March 2022, a CV pertinent to the role, and a 100-word paragraph stating why they consider themselves eligible to take on this assignment.
