Subcommittee on Academic Comparability and Recognition of Prior Learning

The ELT Council Establishes Subcommittee on Academic Comparability and Recognition of Prior Learning.

The ELT Council has officially established a Subcommittee on Academic Comparability and Recognition of Prior Learning. This subcommittee aims to address the growing challenge of recruiting qualified and experienced professionals within the English Language Teaching (ELT) sector by evaluating requests from individuals who may not meet the exact qualifications specified in the legal notice but possess comparable or equally valid qualifications and experience.

An expression of interest was issued to form the subcommittee, which is set up as follows:

  • Prof Daniel Xerri (Chairperson)
  • Prof Odette Vassallo
  • Dr Therese Camilleri
  • Mr Keith Borg
  • Ms Alexandra Bianco

To submit a case for evaluation, applicants are required to email info.eltcouncil@gov.mt with the subject line “Subcommittee on Academic Comparability and Recognition of Prior Learning.” Please ensure that all supporting documentation, including qualifications, employment evidence, and any other relevant documents, are attached to the email for review.

The subcommittee will review cases within 21 days and provide a final decision within 40 days from the submission of all required documentation.
