Application dates for the next TELT session are currently CLOSED.

Applicants are to apply online via link: https://myexams.gov.mt/applications/ and pay the relevant fee of €35. Applicants have to fill their details in the application form below, and pay the respective fee of €35.

Applicants who do not have an e-ID need to contact the Examinations Department on 25982967/2989

All those sitting for TELT sessions will need to apply for SEPTT (oral test) if they haven’t done so already. More details regarding this test are available by clicking here.

2024 TELT Exam Dates:

1st session: 16th March 2024

An extra session has been scheduled for 18th May 2024 due to high demand.

2nd session: 20th July 2024

3rd session 16th November 2024


The ELT Council has designed its own proficiency examination for would-be ELT teachers in order to provide them with the minimum language proficiency certification. This examination is upgraded on a regular basis. All TELT sessions taking place as of 2017 will only have a written component.

SEPTT will replace TELT Oral component and is a requirement for all applicants applying for a New ELT Permit. More details about SEPTT may be found in the SEPTT section.
